My Sony bdb-s370 has an option for DSD output On or Off. When I have it OFF, my receiver shows signal 176hz ... once I select ON receiver doesn't show 176 anymore. Just multi channel. In terms of sound difference, I feel like when DSD is ON sound is definitely louder and thus more pronounced? Not sure. What should I have it set on? thank you ... more | |

oooo, wow, hold on ... are you sure??? Even if my receiver shows 176hz on display? So should I turn Audyssey off? That way my receiver will still do the bass management and keep the signal at full ? ... more | |

So, bottom line is .... once you touch that SACD iso and try to extract tracks, converting it to lower HZ and then playing it on anything that's not a SACD player ... quality (bass, soundstage, rear channels, etc) will become poor compared to original method. ... more | |

So the ultimate question is .... why is surround performance as well as bass sound better on Sony player than via WD Live media player? Same song, file that is on WD Player has been compressed to 88.2hz PCM though. Does that one thing makes such a big difference? ... more |
