I agree w/ both reviews below. The music is wonderful (even the "fill-ins" in the middle); it's nice to compare the two different versions of "Bare Mountain." Thanks for the review. I'm thinking of buying the SHM-CD from cd-japan, but I don't know if I'll hear much difference from the previous Japanese remaster I bought 10 or so years ago. I did recently buy the SHM-CDs of Left-Handed Dream and The Arrangement. They sound very nice, but maybe not any better than the original US LP that I still have in ... more

I enjoy Pizarro's earnestness and deep feeling in the performances. I have no other recordings to compare his tempi, etc. However, although the recording quality is generally pretty good, there's a brittle graininess to the upper register that I find very distracting.
