One of my favorite operas. Great dissapointment. Sonic is excellent, voices are very good. Performance? none. All opera is about obsession. Old duches about three cards, German about lisa, then gambling then old duches. Not hobbies, there are obsessions - dark, passionate fully absorbing etc. Well, ... more

Respectably disagree with "pann". I love her interpretation: added texture, some mannerism. Typical mutter!. Sound is good to very good. Certainly its a keeper!!!

Piano Concerto is not bad. Performance is good but not exceptional. Piano recording is always extremely difficult work and very rarely is successful. This is no exception. Yet one can enjoy! As I understand, this is one of the first high resolution CD's of this label. Britten was mastered from 16/44 (info from discs cover). Dispite this, the sonic is increadibly analog like! I couldn't hear any harshness and brightness, usually, associated with such PCM mastering. Superb transparency, ... more
