Review by Luukas November 21, 2014 (1 of 2 found this review helpful)
This is classic interpretation of Mahler's huge Second Symphony "Resurrection". The CD version got many acclaimed awards, and now Decca releases this on Blu-ray Audio. The results are breathtaking: Blu-ray adds more perspective to Mahler's masterful orchestration, and specially the off-stage bands sounds very far away.

The following review has been taken from Hi-Fi Choice Magazine:
"[an] impressive performance . . . Now re-released on Blu Ray Audio, it definitely sounds more open and natural than the CD, with less tonal hardening in the big climaxes . . . the chorus expands better at the end of the work, and instrumental balances seem more realistic and natural."

Indeed, this is outstanding. My own favorite was Michael Tilson Thomas' performance with San Francisco Symphony Orchestra (Avie), but this is much better. With superb cast and choir, this should be in your library. Wonderful!
