Performance:   Sonics:
It is very good to have Naxos' "old" recordings on Blu-ray Audio format, and this second release of Ravel's Orchestral Works proves it again.
The CD version was good: BBC Music Magazine gave four stars, and recording's sound was deep and clear. But Blu-ray Audio brings more perspective to Ravel's masterful orchestration: for example, La Valse sounds idiomatically jealously, and Slatkin really understands work's fake walz elements.
5.1 DTS Master Audio recording surrounds listener, and Lyon's Auditorium's acoustic comes very close: it sounds like you sits in the hall. Breathtaking experience!
Very good recording for all, who owns Blu-ray player. Outstanding.
