Performance: Sonics: |
America: America Hybrid SACD Stereo Only.
Quick Facts: Released in 1971 without A Horse With No Name. Due to the popularity of that song was re released in 1972 with that song. I didn't know that. This my first and only America album purchase in 1972. I saw them live at the Cow Palace 1989, for Earthquake Relief. Package says "Limited Numbered Edition" I did not get a numbered sticker as I have with others, I guess they went beyond the limited edition. AF released this in 2013.
Performance: Beautiful. Soft, easy going, acoustic guitar flavored rock music. Lots of credits due to recording but three guys (Dewey,Dan,Garry) make the band.
Stereo Sonics: Brilliant. Open, airy, warm, analogue, sound stage is wide and deep. Instruments resonate very well. Strings of guitars and wood neck tweaks are great. I did here some random clicking on track 8. Track 12 Pigeon Song with it's opening solo acoustic might as well be live in your listening space. This is a great stereo disc to turn up a bit and let it fill your house, well if your house is not a 32 room mansion. The piano and guitars on I Need You is amazing and lovely. The star of the show, A Horse With No Name, is guaranteed the best I ever heard.
Packaging: Typical Audio Fidelity with plastic jewel case and outer paper sleeve. 4 page mini paper booklet with musician track notes. No lyrics.
Giving Credit: Analogue reviews, the first person to review this disc has a better comprehension and is a really good review writer. We tend to like the same music so it is hard to go behind him but I do my best.
Great disc of 1971 mellow rock music.
