This is a new Shm Sacd version of this album from Universal Japan. And its awesome.

I don't own the original sacd but I would bet my bottom dollar that it doesn't come close to this new disc. Not only does it feature great sax playing but the vibes are recorded in spectacular fashion. A great pairing of the two talents.

This new Shm Sacd features the same great audio qualities that make for all great shm sacd's. Namely transparency, a you are there feeling, sound stage, lifelike timbres.. musically involving....its all here. The sound stage is wide, it has a great mid range and a beautiful airy treble region.

Milt Jackson usually sets the tempo first with his vibe playing commencing the tracks. The vibes are very lifelike and the notes hang in the air. Adderley kicks in afterward and it gets better and better from there.
His sax is closely miked and not much in the way of fake reverb. It has a nice, natural echo to it though. Great playing and great sound. All this from a secondary tape source that still manages to sound pristine in every way.

The tape is a tad crackly in certain quieter parts but the sound and music still sounds awesome. I really enjoyed this entire disc from start to finsh and its right up there with my best Jazz Shm Sacd's.

Highly recommended. A beautiful Shm Sacd with a new 2012 Dsd transfer.
A great jazz album.
