This is the 2nd shm-sacd disc of Stevie Wonder material I purchased. Songs in the key of life was a terrific sacd and I was pleased with the quality.

This disc is very good as well if not a little more reserved than the first disc. By this I mean that most of the music is centered in the mid-range. Bass and drums for the most part are also stuck in the middle. Whether this is due to the actual recording and mix or the mastering tech's choice I cannot say. I think its a flat transfer.

Wonder manages to keep things intresting throughout the entire album with his choice of songs.....some slow and tendy others fast and funky.
The song Too high has Wonders voice at times processed through some device which gives it a strange feel.
Visions is a gorgeous song and one of the best realized on this sacd. His voice is impressive.
Also All in love is fair has Wonders voice recorded very well. A great song.
Higher Ground is funky enough but a tad reserved. Living for the city is enjoyable with nice added effects.
Misstra know it all has nice piano work and is a joy to listen to.

The transfer is warm, lush and analogue sounding. Its also gentle on the ears. However my only reservation is that I expected a more 3 dimensional sound field with instruments seperated more.
Other than that its a terrific disc in both music and transfer.

Recommended. A good shm-sacd.
