Well after my less than kind review of the first edition, It is a welcome relief to have this interesting and rewarding disc.No quibble with the quality from the opening Serenade through the Romance and the final Suite for orchestra on a Russian theme.Clearly PCM rather than DSD but recorded in a nice open accoustic.Just a slight hint of congestion at louder parts. From memory the concertos were the better reorded in the original set.

Playing is as good as needed for these works which can hardly be considered masterpieces or very original in its music making.Though they do fill a gap somewhere between Mendlessohn Scummann and Brahms etc without reaching those heights.
Im curious whether they corrected the earlier edition or thought about a one disc release of the less popular 2 concertos.
