Performance:   Sonics:
Not much to add after Geohominid: simply pleasures and natural melodical attitude of Askenazy proving his ongoing interest for melody at first place. Performance stands out.
Technically belongs amongst finest EXTON releases. Not very strong with basses, but I like that lightwieghting symphony. Never heard that set of Gothenburg/Järvi since it is originally PCM 44,1kHz recording which I try to avoid when it comes to classical.

But I remeber the renditions of Sixten Ehrling (mono, 1955) and Zubin Mehta on TELDEC plus Leif Sagerstam w. DNRSO on CHANDOS (all RBCD) from which only the latter bears some comparison. Askenazy is simply romantic in person while Leif Sagerstam is more modernistic and also more pushy at places.

I feel I can live with all four but for RBCD I wish to be soon forgotten due to lack of space and separation.
