Performance:   Sonics:
Since I don’t speak a word of French and we don’t get any French artist on Dutch radio it’s always an adventure trying to buy French titles at amazon.fr.
The not getting any French artist on Dutch radio is the easy one to fix, thanks to the huge amount of P2P programs out there it’s pretty easy to find a couple of songs to download to make an informed decision whether an artist is worth buying or not. And that’s what I did in this case, look up the artist name and downloaded some songs. Well I have to admit it was worth the bandwidth, because Lara Fabian is a wonderful artist.
I have had this disc in my collection for a couple of months now, and it is slowly but surely turning into one of my favourites. The album is filled with mostly ballads and that is exactly Lara strong point. The more up tempo songs are pretty bad and could just as easily be on a Celine Dion album, which is not a compliment. Because to me at least Lara is a far more interesting artist, with an amazing voice. This is a really nice album, and if music is more important than the langue that is used than this is a great buy.
Sound quality wise there is not much to say except it is sourced from a 24/96 PCM recording, which doesn’t bother me. As far as I am concerned it sounds great.
