Performance:   Sonics:
Right from the first note it was apparant that this is something special.

The French harpsichord - it is from the Von Nagel Workshop in Paris 1985, after N. & F. Blanchet, Paris, 1730 - sounds divine. It is obviously a lovely instrument and the recording captures it to great effect.

This disc was my first exposure to both the music of J.C.Bach and the playing of Olga Martynova, and what a wonderful introduction it proved to be!

There are 13 tracks, and every one of them is a winner - this really is a disc in a million. If I have to pick highlights they would be the opening sonata and the Prestissimo from the Sonata in C major. The latter is a remarkable performance. It must have been an incredible experience to see Olga record this. Listen to this track if you have any aspirations to play the harpsichord - it defies belief! Having listened in awe to the whole disc I returned to track 11 and played it again and again.

Lovely music.
Lovely instrument.
Not only a virtuoso performance but melodic and listenable to boot.
Superb recording.
