Performance:   Sonics:
Everyone will know the tracks on this SACD, it is if you will a best of Beethoven, and some of the tunes can only be had on this SACD. Now I have been informed that Horowitz is not the best interpreter of Beethoven, and I've have to agree.

On some of the more languid tracks, his precision comes out as lack of interpretation, however, on other tracks where things start to get busy his speed and delination come to the for. So guess what? Most people who don't agonise over performances will be very happy with this SACD, and those who do will like half of it.

Sonics are good but not out of this world. Still very happy to have it in my collection, and since the source material is so good, it keeps being taken off the shelf and played, even just for the first track which is technically the weakest performance.
