not talking about high "buy it now" list prices, but actual bids.

Here's one:

Bob Marley's Young Mystic, $76.50...It's a great disc, but I never would have paid that much for it (I think it was maybe $24 new?)

If I recall, the Depeche Mode SACDs go for maybe $60-75 but not enough for me to sell my copy of Songs of Faith and Devotion.

So what you're saying is that you don't want to pay as much as other people are asking for their disc's, but you want more for your disc's than people are willing to pay.

I think that is the way we all are ;-)

No, I just like to know the value of my collection and am always curious as to which discs have accrued value and which have not.

If there's a disc out there that I have and am not that fond of that is going for big $, I'd happily part with it.

One quick way is to type in your disc title and use Amazon's new and used prices as a quick indication of what the market will bear.

Usually, titles which are unavailable will find their way onto Ebay and then you can access Ebay and get a clearer indication of what the disc can fetch!.

I have seen discs advertised on Amazon UK which are fetching over a thousand pounds and while I chuckle at the outrageous prices, I do so because I have the disc and it cost me a paltry $15 (US)......brand new!

I just sold this for $95 to a Steve Hoffman forum member. I bought it for $20 while it was in print, and didn't care much about it. But it's an audiophile classic and now very hard to find on SACD, which explains the price.

Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio: Misty

Amazon Marketplace prices are not a good indication, because they are asking prices. You have to check successful Ebay auctions to see what a realistic price is.

Well, here is the highest asking price I saw the other day on ebay for one of the early Esoteric sacd's. No bids yet of course.

Right, prices on amazon are just the same as a starting bid or buy it now on ebay...the only real indications of value are actual bids. It's just too time consuming to track them all, which is the reason for my post.

You ask others to supply you information for your potential profit because you're disinclined to do the legwork yourself?

If you all really want to get "rich" the money, I assure you, is not in SACDs but in GOLD!
