Discussion: Nektar: Remember the Future

Post by RobK May 14, 2005 (1 of 7)
I recently purchased this disc from Amazon.com and was quite disappointed that despite having the right catalogue number (DNECD 1204), this is not a SACD. Amazon clearly listed it as such, as does Nektar’s own website. Surprisingly, the record label (Eclectic/Dream Nebula) website does NOT list RTF as a SACD release.

Does anyone have any idea as to what is going on? Is there a SACD version of this great album?

Thanks,
RobK

The back cover on Amazon.de shows the SACD logo

Hmmm. There's a number of reviews as a SA-CD so I presume it was at some stage. Looking at the amazon listing, it has a recent date of March 29, 2005. I suspect that the initial press run sold out and they've re-released it as a vanilla CD, but with the same serial number just to confuse everybody. I've pulled all the buy links until this is sorted out.

Yes, it was a SACD. I have it (bought it from amazon.co.uk) and it is very good.

I always wondered what "Mehr Bilder ansehen" meant. Thanks for the tip ... this will come in very handy!

Thanks Zeus. I'll contact Amazon and see about returning this one. I've since checked the amazon.ca site and they actually include a disclaimer that the original pressing was in fact SACD, but current editions are CD only.

As I suspected. You could try one of the specialty retailers that claim to have this in stock, or ebay. It just goes to show that you don't want to hang about!
