I'm sure many of you know of the $5.99 (shipping included) deals at www.yourmusic.com, but I thought I would just post this for those who don't. Basically, it's a monthly subscription service. You add CDs (or SACDs) to your queue and they send you the CD at the top of your queue once a month. Great deal for only $5.99. I joined on a Friday and got my Bartok SACD by the following Tuesday. Their SACD collection is pretty small right now (only about 30 titles), but you can pick up some Bob Dylan, Wes Montgomery, Bill Evans, Sonny Rollins, Isaac Hayes, Marvin Gaye, and Living Stereo titles for a great price.

Yes, great deal indeed. So far, I have purchased the SACD of "The Marvin Gaye Collection" and 2 BMG Living Stereo titles. I am hoping yourmusic.com will add the next patch of Living Stereo SACDs to its current list of available titles.

Just in case you don't know, yourmusic.com is run by BMG Music Service.

Non-US users please note, this service is available in the USA only, and NOT to Europe, Oz etc., so don't get too excited.

What happened to the SACD search abilty?

At first I was able to find SACD's by putting 'SACD' in the album title seach field, and it would come back with about 30 titles. Now I can't do this search, although if I look up Bartok it will come up with the SACD.

Has anybody else noticed this? Is there anyway around it?

I am now a suscriber to this. Don't worry, non-US dwellers, you are not missing that much, at least so far:

1. There are very few SACD's, and those are almost impossible to find-there is no way to search for them separately that I was able to discover.

2. On top of that, many of the dual-inventory titles (some Telarc, for example) are available only as RBCD.

3. The user interface is extremely difficult. There are some 230 listings for Bartok, for example, and several dozen are for Reiner's Living Stereo Bartok, as an example. I think titles show up based on their tracks, so a disc with 12 tracks shows up 12 times. Maybe this makes sense in the pop world, where you can search by song, but it sure doesn't in the classical world.

4. You can't queue multidisc sets-these have to be purchased at the time. Too bad, many of the most interesting selections are multi disc (Takacs Beethoven Quartets, for example-at $5.99 a disc). The catch is that to belong, you have to pay the $5.99 per month if you have something in your queue or not-and if you have trouble finding single discs to queue, as I did, you might have an issue with the value of this service.

I sent some feedback, and urge all of my fellow Americans to do the same. Maybe we can create a real good source if they listen to us.

On top of that, yourmusic.com has a photo of the cardboard slipcase to, for example, Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue", certain titles when all they offered are the CD versions. At least that was the case the last time I visited the site. I have since e-mailed them about the misleading photo and they said they will correct their mistake.

BTW, if you're one of the early "subscribers", the price of these discs are just US$4.99/disc.

I was a little frustrated trying to find SACD titles. My issue was made worse because I just bought a few of the titles they did have.

For $5.95 a month, I'll give it a shot for a few months and see how I like it.

If anyone figures out how to just search the SACD titles, please let us know. I sent them an email as well.

BTW, Thanks for the tip!

This just "came over the wire" at the stevehoffman.tv site....

Do a search of "SACD" using album title, but make sure you add a space before the S in SACD. You should get a 2 page list of SACDs available at yourmusic.com
