Looking forward to this one. Sony.de is also showing this will be out in DVD and Blu Ray. Hope there is a US domestic release of this title.

For me just about anything from Volodos is worth having, I hope one day he will record the Liszt sonata, now that would be a treat.

One gathers that once again Sony is penalizing American music lovers by charging us a higher price than the rest of the world for SACDs! - Isn't it about time that we protest this discrimination???

Why does Asia and Europe get the superior DSD/SACD format as a matter of course while we have to send away for it at a greater price on the assumption that we Americans don't care enough about quality to have the SACD available on the same basis as the rest of the world. - Does Sony think so little of Americans ability to discern the superiority of SACD as the rest of the world certainly has? - It's an outrage!

Volodos in Vienna is a double SACD set, beautifully performed and superbly recorded and the price is hardly excessive. In fact, SONY has been pricing their single disc new release SACDs on par with the Living Stereo SACD remasters and if you pre-order from CD Universe, the price is sometimes under $10 per SACD.....actually a mega-bargain in today's world.

Hmmm...CDU claims it's a single disc on the Phantom label!!

Phantom stands for "Phantom Sound and Vision", the former leading US distributor, now owned by the company "Super D"

http://www.sdcd.com/

Thousands of CDU items indicate Phantom as a label, but that only means it's an import.

At $11 for the 2-disc SACD set, this must be one of the better specials around at the moment.

The Blu-ray is also cheap (12 Euro on JPC currently). That would be my preferred option for this recording. Hi-rez multichannel sound and HD picture.

Although a couple of Amazon reviews imply there is something wrong with the video?
