I have the 3 disc Blu Ray which is fantastic.

But as this is possibly the greatest live album ever recorded I am looking very forward to the simplicity of what MOFI will bring as I have the utmost respect for there business model of bringing top notch stereo discs to the consumer.

Just an observation, Markie: The 3 disc BD~A is definitive covering all three nights of the concert...and also has a stereo layer.

For my money, I'd probably opt for the single layered DSD mastered SHM~SACD of Fillmore if I WAS (but I'm NOT) going to spring for the stereo, only version.

I have the original DTS 4.0 Fillmore discs, the domestic Universal mch/stereo SACD version and the 3 disc Universal BD~A set so I think I'm covered. The DTS 4.0 is VERY discrete but supposedly has the rear channels reversed; the domestic Universal mch SACD is also pretty discrete and the 3 disc BD~A mainly has ambience/audience response in the rear. VERY confusing, at best. The domestic Universal mch SACD (2~disc set) is still VERY cheap (and really not bad at all) so if you want to hear a more discrete approach.....I'd (personally) spring for that one, Markie. i have the shm-sacd plus a couple of other versions, including the original mfsl two disc rbcd myself. glad to hear you like it ralph. it serms to be widely slammed by various folks as one of the 'absolutely don't buy' shm-sacds. go figure. i'm gonna spring for the mfsl once the price drops.

Ralph,
I totally agree with you.

BUT

Being that I have had every version of this including 8track and I saw them at Winterland with Duane Allman 2 months before he died I am looking forward to the MOFI disc.

I have the BD~A in all it's glory,

BUT

because it has all the running shows in there original order of play including sax on first night, not good, I am needing to hear the MOFI version and see what they did with a LP from my youth.

One time I saw them at Laguna Seca and I yelled when they paused as they do during Whipping Post just like the guy does in the original LP, I nailed it so good it freaked me out and Duane Allman gave me a smile.

So as you see, I just have to get it. I just want to hear it without any extras. And that is what MOFI does best.

BTW, speaking of MOFI, the newly released Hall and Oates, absolutely fantastic sound quality. When I did critical listening it was just spectacular including the many long fade outs where you can hear the slightest nuances all the way to the end.

Agreed on MoFi's Hall and Oates releases. I have H20, Private Eyes and Voices on MoFi Stereo SACD and couldn't be happier!

Just wish MoFi wasn't 'sitting' on ALL those announced SACD releases which, like Analogue Productions, take FOREVER and a DAY to reach market.

We should be thankful for the expediency in which Audio Fidelity rapidly releases those announced titles and unlike MoFi and AP gives us REAL surround and they will not release ANY titles that MoFi and/or Analogue Productions have forthcoming (which can take sometimes up to a year....or MORE to reach fruition)!
