Weber's "Der Freischütz". Last year LSO Live released late Sir Colin Davis's recording of the work, but sadly his approach was too slow and smooth. PENTATONE is planning to release other albums in Remastered Classics and hopefully their "wish list" contains Kleiber's legendary reading with the Staatskapelle Dresden (1972).

Seiji Ozawa and the Boston Symphony Orchestra made many outstanding recordings together. One of them was Berlioz's dramatic symphony "Romeo and Juliet", which has been recorded at the Boston Symphony Hall in the middle of the 1970s. The recording - which was engineered by Thomas Mowrey - used quadraphonic tapes. Now it would be possible to release it in its original form - on surround.

Tchaikovsky's "The Queen of Spades" is the other work which should be also available on SACD. The opera tells a thrilling love story between the officer and a young girl. It is emotional, deeply moving listening experience. Mstislav Rostropovich recorded the work in 'seventies: the recording was made also on quad, but it was never released in that form. Let's hope that PENTATONE will release it in Remastered Classics. We will see it soon (newsletter).

The other works are:
- Mahler: Symphony No. 10 (Cooke)
- Sibelius: Scaramouche, tragic pantomime after Poul Knudsen, Op. 71
- Mendelssohn: Christus, Op. 97 (unfinished oratorio in two parts)
- Lalo: Symphonie espagnole, Op. 21 for violin and orchestra
- Vieuxtemps: Violin Concertos Nos. 4 & 5
- Paganini: Violin Concerto No. 2 in B minor, Op. 7 "La Campanella" [The Little Bell]
- Sibelius: Swanwhite, Belshazzar's Feast, King Christian II - concert suites & Scénes historiques I & II
- Sallinen: The Red Line - opera
- Kokkonen: The Last Temptations
