I have all titles from the "Ultimate Sound SACD" series from Warner HK.

Just did several comparison, the sound of these SACD varies - not necessarily better than RBCD.

On the positive side, I have Julie Sue, Tsai Chin, the SACD stereo is clearly better than the RBCD release.

On the negative side, I have Fei Yu Chin and Danny Chan, I simply could not tell the difference between the SACD stereo and his other RBCD release.

I could not say of other titles, though, as I do not even have any RBCD for those singers. ;)

As to titles from Universal HK, and Sony HK, I would have something to say about them after my next batch of orders arrives.

Compilations, such as the HK Warner Ultimate Sound SACD series, are inevitably not necessarily the best sounding version possible since all of the songs are sources from various places.

Then they shouldn't be calling the series 'Ultimate Sound'

Maybe the ultimate currently available version? But then why would you only trust one person's opinion.

Well, they keep going with 80's hits:

Women's Stories (hybrid stereo SACD)
1. Sade --- Smooth Operator
2. Annie Lennox --- Why
3. Beverley Craven --- Promise Me
4. Celine Dion --- My Heart Will Go On
5. Whitney Houston --- Where Do Broken Hearts Go
6. Toni Braxton --- Another Sad Love Song
7. Diana King --- I Say A Little Prayer
8. Dionne Warwick --- I'll Never Love This Way Again
9. Taylor Dayne --- Love Will Lead You Back
10. Martika --- Toy Soldiers
11. Cyndi Lauper --- All Through The Night
12. Mary MacGregor --- Torn Between Two Lovers
13. Melissa Manchester --- Through The Eyes Of Love (Theme From "Ice Castles")
14. The Pointer Sisters --- Slow Hand
15. Dee C. Lee --- See The Day
16. Basia --- Time And Tide

Greatest Rock Ballads (hybrid stereo SACD)
1. REO Speedwagon --- Keep On Loving You
2. Journey --- Faithfully
3. Bad English --- When I See You Smile
4. Toto --- I Won't Hold You Back
5. Cheap Trick --- The Flame
6. Meat Loaf --- Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad
7. Steve Perry --- Oh Sherrie
8. Boston --- More Than A Feeling
9. Starship --- Sara
10. Air Supply --- Making Love Out Of Nothing At All
11. Survivor --- The Search Is Over
12. The Jeff Healey Band --- While My Guitar Gently Weeps
13. Santana --- Love Is You
14. Scorpions --- Still Loving You (Live Version)
15. Europe --- Carrie
16. Warrant --- Heaven

Available already both of them!

I'll pass them, only 1 or 2 tracks deserve attention for me in each case (Sade, Annie Lennox, Toto).

Here are 2 titles in the news from Kenny G and Air Supply.

But maybe sa-cd.net does not care about regional market release anymore, because the listing under Universal-HK, Sony Music-HK, and Warner-HK are totally out of date.

I believe that news release was from a looooooong time ago. Nonetheless, "Kenny G Live" and "Air Supply - The Definitive Collection" were both just re-released by HK Sony Music. Along with this classic....

Folks, I'm heading back to Nepal for a month, via Hong Kong, next week for work. Please let me know the best shops for decent priced SACDs, and hopefully some Japanese releases too. The last few times I was there, prowling around Mongkok, I didn't find anything special and the prices seemed rather high. I'll have an evening in HGK on my outbound, and a day or two on the return at the June ...

By the way, where are these SACDs being manufactured? In the PRC or at the two mainstream plants (in Austria and Japan)?

Japan, Germany, and Austria. There's no SACD plant in PRC.

you can shop online via hmv HK's website:
http://www.hmv.com.hk/
and let them deliver to one of their stores so that you can pick them up when in HK.

Never being in HK, so I do not know which of their stores would worth a trip.
