Maybe because you didn't read the review guidelines.

"- Avoid one line reviews. Consider using the "recommend" feature instead."

Sorry if I offended the five or six readers to this snob affair Clod.
Is it time for tea?

You better not post reviews at all if you feel offended about what other think of them.

Not offended at all, I really could care less, just think it strange that everyone (all three of you) would rate below zero for someone who was trying to help. I just am not among "the elite" I guess.
I usually thank people who try to help.
This forum is a waste of my time, but more power to those who write 500 words or more and those who have the time to read it. You snobs can go help yourself and whatever else you wish upon yourselves.

David. You do appear to show resentment to something you seem to misunderstand and therefore think is a waste of time..Obviously 95 views of this post indicate an interest of more than three people as stated.
You will be suprised to know that most people on this forum wish for more contributions from anyone as it also helps people to judge and buy sacd items.
I would suggest you look at your "reviews" and tell me how they could be considered helpfull. I am always looking for new and interesting items and can barely remember these items when they came out..I was too busy seeing these and other great bands live to remember the Lps..
A few lines pointing out why " this sacd is best thing since sliced bread or before" BECAUSE etc etc will gain you more repect that trading insults. Some of this forum can do that without even trying at times.
I chose this thread as I have Lp and would have all of his if I could get my greedy hands on them. All POP sacds to me are poorer than the vinyl even in the repressed editions,So please make a contribution...The only elite in this forum is old joke about the fat guy..elite anything you put in front of him....Now lets have a proper review.....D

I was trying to help prospective buyers, not write a book review. Maybe it's because I usually just read the short reviews, I really don't usually care to read about each studio chair squeak. I think if someone says that he/she liked it and the surround works, gee that's about the meat of it. I don't need more, it's helpful to know that a real listener liked it. Sometimes I will read a long review, but don't penalize and give bad marks because I do not want to write a novel. That's not being nice.
What do I seem to misunderstand? I have followed every quad/surround system since the early 70's. What I do understand that two competing formats was a horrible idea, but hey, Sony knows best; now we have little of either. Thanks Sony, now go and put some files on my computers I don't want. Pass the MD disc. And to think, I even named my dog Beta.

To sum up: I like all surround, short reviews, and dogs. Pass the music not the hype.

Fair response but lets remember this is not a MUSIC forum its about sacd and reviews are meant to be about that.
Nobody here is hyping anything..In fact your initiial review was probably nearer to hype than anything,we are not mindreaders,ie no content as to why its so great..Most people on this site wont have heard the MB/JH sacds including me and would like you to tell us about it. as an sacd..some transfers are abysmal...NOT what you think about surround sound or Sony or whether competing formats sucks..We already know about that and a review is not the place to winge..and you cannot blame Sony if someone brought out a competing system..to clarify...You didnt really review the discs...As regards "you like All surround"..great even if it is bad?... I have worked with a few of those systems myself.
Again Its not giving you bad marks..Its saying that potential buyers and interested people didnt find your review helpfull and the reason is obvious.
I suggest you watch out for others to review the discs (not write a novel that isnt nice ?_)
You probably wont get any of the people on this site (especially all you tried to insult) agreeing that Sony knows best/They dont...D

The problem with short reviews is all they can do is tell you that the "reviewer" liked it (or not) but not whether the reader will (or not). For this, you need to go into some detail so readers can at least get an idea of where you're coming from. A good, informative review requires not a little effort and real skill and we should be thankful of those who contribute their time freely. For those that aren't able or inclined to put in this effort, there's the "Would you recommend this" facility.

Yes, I like mostly bad surround.
If the first comment fits, wear it...
