I bought 3 Depeche Mode "surround masterpieces"...
As if it isn't hard enough to find out what you need/want, now you must also be careful to NOT end up with PAL versions for the American market. Thanks deservedly go to the complete MOONBOBS who produce these wonderful surround media pieces. More confusion please! I can hardly wait for the Blu Laser/HD-DVD battles to begin. The industry is lucky to have the customer support it does have! The industry are all morons, every last one!

This release was produced by a German record company, and is a European release. Most of Europe uses the PAL system. Why would you expect something different?

If you want to play DVD-Video discs from Europe, you must have a DVD player capable of playing PAL-encoded discs.

Just so there's no confusion - the accompanying DVD-Video disc is PAL-encoded. The separate hybrid SACD is not affected by this at all.

How is the music?

I wouldn't expect anything different. I did not know I was ordering from a UK house, they had an American front and nothing indicating PAL that I found, did not even think about it. I am a video editor and very aware of what PAL is.

This is part of the confusion. It's not made very easy. If this is confusing me, I think it's confusing many others. I am fairly experienced and still often confused by this industry.

I wanted the video and extra tracks on the DVD along with SACD/MC. I can not even read the menus with the PAL/NTSC problem.

The music and surround is great, just need to send it back and get the NTSC version in June.

An online store that sells DVDs to various continents should inform about region or video format limitations. If the PAL format is not indicated on the disc cases, it's not the store's fault, but if it is, it's their responsability to put the information on their website.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I believe after what I have read at other forums that even if you reside in the US you do NOT want the US/NTSC version of the Depeche Mode remasters because those are CD+DVD only, whereas the European/PAL edition is Hybrid SACD + DVD.
