Thought I would share an absolute delight of a release, Waylon Jennings Analog Pearls Vol.1. (on the Stockfische Label) It was a 4-track recording back in 1964 so my hopes weren't too high to be honest. But what came out of my speakers was just breathtaking even by today's standards. A very open warm sound, with an incredible sound stage. The marketing blurb calls it a 'extremely convincing and clean tube sound' I would call it remarkable and highly recommended

I would be interested to hear other peoples opinions on the release

Welcome...

Briefly, in Analog Pearls Vol. 1: Waylon Jennings & The Waylors there's "start discussion" and, better still, "add review" :)

Audiophile Audition awarded it 3 1/2 stars and incidentally it was originally produced by Herb Alpert on his A&M label.

I have always prized Stockfisch SACDs for their meticulous engineering and choice of repertoire so I'm sure this is a winner although the AA reviewer points to Jennings later recordings as the more interesting in his canon.

Mine is in the mail and I will report back soon. Stockfisch is a great label and I will buy anything then release. They do a fantastic job with both the artistry and the SQ. Not unlike Sheffield Lab. If you have not tried them yet, just pick one and you will be hooked.

I must admit Waylon has produced better material, but the quality of this recording is outstanding
