released.
Was this material offered previously on a Sony BMG Living Stereo SACD?

This coupling is the same as the original LP.

Listened to this tonight. Sounded fantastic. But why couldn't AP provide a track listing for the Song of the Nightingale? It is divided into 8 tracks, but you'd never know it from the packaging.

I've ordered this along with a number of others that either did not appear among the original LS SACD releases or those about which I have had some sonic reservations. Unfortunately I made the mistake of asking for all the releases to be shipped together and the time it is taking for each batch to appear means I might be waiting a long time before I hear any of them.

Living Stereo Rip-off price, excellent Lieutenant Kije Suite on Telarc SACD $8.82 I will be very suprised if the old LS recording sounds as good as Telarcs, performance also excellent.

I don't disagree that the price is a bummer, but I've listened to the Kije a few times and it just sounded right and wonderful in 3-channel. I wouldn't have bothered buying this for the Song of the Nightingale, since Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade - Reiner is already very good.

The lowest price I found is 26.43 dollars at importcds.
Although I've heard better recordings of Kije (i.e. Abbado and Szell), Reiner's Nightingale remains unchallenged.

Better in what respect? I haven't heard the Abbado performance in a long time, but certainly the Szell is much less well recorded IMHO.

Sorry for the confusion. I mean they are more inspired and better played, not recording-wise.
