Obviously.

As you're, in fact, still waiting—please tell us more about yourself ; primary of your enthusiasm, with regards to SA-CD listening, for acquiring...

Your User Details, currently, is somewhat blank. What's your present setup ? Do you expect it to outperform your speakers ?

And, /showthread/117236//y?page=first already is about these 'cans' ; Jonalogic's response, upon reading, was "Yay (muted)." Plus, Lunna wrote :

Received the PM-1s late this afternoon (Tuesday April, 15th). The packing is quite elaborate and can be viewed via this link:
http://www.hifiplus.com/articles/first-listen-oppo-digital-pm-1-planar-magnetic-headphones/

I plugged the PM-1s into my Oppo BDP-105 and started listening to various SACDs, downloaded DSD and FLAC files, Blu-ray Audio and RBCDs. Muddy would not be a term I would use with these headphones more like transparent, accurate and non fatiguing.

After more extensive listening I will post more impressions.

I listened to the PM-1 headphones at Oppo's Mountain View offices yesterday.

They have an assortment of competitive headphones (Sennheiser 650, Beyer DT-660, Audeze LCD-2, HiFi Man HE-6) that you can listen to on an Oppo BDP-105 player to compare.

Worth a visit if you're in the market. I picked up a set after the audition.

The more I listen to the PM-1s the better I like them. I have 400+ SACDs, 20 DVD-As, about 40 downloads (FLAC & DSD) and 2000+ RBCDs. The only draw back are with some of RCA Living Stereo SACDs, the tape hiss is more audible when listening with the Oppos.

It's gratifying to see that OPPO is gravitating toward the high end.

As your headphones break in, I'm sure you'll gain even more pleasure from them.

It would be quite interesting to see what OPPO could do for between $5~10K in the Universal player department?

Would it be prudent, for instance, for OPPO to create a Universal player with two transports side by side...one for BD~A/V/DVD~A/V and one for SACD/RBCD and isolate the two transports. Of course the power supply would have to be up to the task as well as the analogue/digital inputs/outputs and of course for downloaders and streamers a separate panel isolated from the rest.

Am not asking for too much. But I feel OPPO has created a wonderful and unique niche with their Universal players and each succeeding model, I feel, has improved upon the previous one.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then ...

BTW, adhom will get you nowhere here. I suggest you go elsewhere for that.
