The only thing I DETEST about Acoustic Sounds SACD box sets is that they literally charge $100 for the freakin' box. 6 discs @ $30 each should be $180.......AC charges $280 w/box....ridiculous.

I concur with Audio Ed (who BTW has a fine system) that the MoFis were great. I also have a few of the original SONY SACDs and they aren't too far behind the MoFi, at least on my system.

Good Luck Mark. BTW, the best price was through Amazon's third party vendor ImportCD which charged brand new $240 + $4 shipping........$180 for the discs and $64 for the box......a bargain ;-) and $220.78 if you buy direct from ImportCD but you'd be nailed for California state tax.

Sometimes you just gotta think OUTSIDE THE BOX!

That's why a Jack and Bud Light help me forget about any mistakes I make.

Well, I will say I love my Legacy RBCD Texas Flood, so I will have something to compare.

Decided to keep the Texas Blues going tonight with Freddie King, next Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Lightnin Hopkins and Albert Collins, love that Texas Blues, definitely different than Chicago and Delta/Memphis.

I may be new to audiophile but not to music.

Valentine Girl is at work.

Well, I have it, I have listened to it all. Getting ready to write a review, which of course is hard on a box set, but my style is short and to the point so I'll be OK.

I have really listened to the sentiment of this thread and I think everybody has really good points and information and it becomes one collective accurate opinion.

And don't forget to critique the quality of the $100 AP Box.......perhaps if you outfit it with diamond studs it could form the genesis of a rather large wristwatch ;-D http://annroth.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/get-out-of-the-box.jpeg : thinking outside the TANK!

VERY encouraging review, Mark. I didn't want to say it and spoil the fun but rarely have I ever been disappointed with an Analogue Production SACD.

Am glad you cleared the air despite one poster's VERY negative review.

Will always surmise "The Better The Equipment, the better the sound and experience!"

Interesting read. Thanks for the review, Mark!

But...I am still holding out for hurricane Stevie in SURROUND. @o@ LOL!

Well, Mark, due to your GLOWING review, I broke down and purchased the Stevie Ray Vaughan box set even though I have Couldn't Stand The Weather on both the original SONY SACD and the MoFi SACD version. But (and begrudgingly) I only paid $45 for "the box!"

BTW, your review WAS excellent and the very fact that it contained bonus tracks and a nice booklet were great selling points.

Perhaps my cat, who's Double Trouble, will find a new home within that box.

Where can you find a home for $45 today, Mark???????

Silicon Valley?

Thanks to lower price at Import CDs and the 10% off sale I got the whole thing for $195.71.

No way I'd pay what amounts to $100 for the box at full price, but $15.71......no problem.

That's an awesome price for an awesome set, Blair.

You can always count on ImportCD for the BEST prices ANYWHERE...except, maybe, on Japanese imports.

That 10% off also pays for the extra shipping/handling charges they charge and then some.

You will LOVE this set. Pretty definitive in my mind.
