Can someone suggest a legit source for this disc at a reasonable price? I ordered it from an Amazon seller a while back and got Karajan's instead! (So have others.) Apparently Amazon has the wrong ASIN, so you either get Karajan's or an RBCD version of Thielemann's.

Be careful, this is a 44/16 RBCD recording and you'll get no more from the SACD. It was on my wish list for ages until that discovery was made.

True, but A) it's supposed to be very good sounding regardless, and B) it would be nice to have the multi-channel version.

Sure about 16/44? Nobody recorded in 16bit in 2000.
The SHM-SACD is still available, but it's stereo only.

GoHastings is pretty reliable, and their eBay listing of this disc for $7.50 plus $3 shipping explicitly says SACD.
And the booklet for this disc says 24/48 recording.

That sounds good, but theirs didn't show up when I searched.

Dear Fugue, don't waste your money: after a start in the mountains the performance goes all downhill from there and the sound is glassy bordering on shrill.

Thanks. I'll try to get by with Luisi and Haitink on SACD, and Karajan and Sinopoli on RBCD.

I don't want to break rules by posting a link, but search by UPC: 028947163626. It's eBay item number 380836727606
