Looks promising! I hope the Concerto No.2 is uncut.

Both Concertos were aired on Classic FM last week and they are played very well. Denis Matseuv is a rising star for sure. The disc will be a 'must buy' for many on here.

How many people would not already have a Tchaikovsky 1? How many people would need yet another? Even if I did, Mariinksy is not what it used to be in recording quality, so I would be nervous to venture my toe into this pond.

Yikes, more crap English!
Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto's 1 & 2???
For shame - it's piano concertos. Or, if you want to be uber pedantic, concerti.
Groan.

In the description on SA-CD.net the recording-type is "PCM", on the Mariinsky-site it is described as DSD-recorded. Someone who knows the real facts?

Classic Sounds do the recording and all previous Mariinsky's have been in DSD
