Only "quite liberal"?! We even allow frequent discussions of "lossy", lo-rez formats(!) ;)

Ahh - I might dust-off some of my 78s and discuss those here! Also recommended needles to play these!

Seriously though - it's nice that other formats can be discussed, as it's sometimes hard to avoid in a discussion. Apart from that, they're out there. I'm as interested in SACD now as was when I first discovered it and had my first disc in December 2006. Bring on more SACD titles!

It's true that there's bickering on this forum (as a poster earlier in this thread mentioned), but if it's any consolation to anyone, it seems to be something common on internet forums - regardless of the subject matter.

Long live sa-cd.net!

A magic number? Not really. Note the frequency of 0's & 1's... quite a few. Only three numbers >5. So what's going on?

The numbers may please Zeus who finds this whole thing rather tedious. Any guesses?

The numbers are the numbers of posts on this forum on consecutive days of this current month of June 13, pretty clear evidence of waning interest. Only 76 in total.

All products have a natural lifetime cycle, maybe the game is up for sa-cd.net? If so it is not surprising as it is no longer the website of choice to find out about new SACDs. If these numbers really do signal increasing apathy towards the format by the stalwart audiophiles who have done their best to support it over the past decade, where does that leave the future?

It is maybe no coincidence that the most popular items on the forum at present are to do with Blu-ray and mch speaker choice.

I dont believe Iam reading this, your post is a pathetic shot in the foot.
The lack of interest in the Forum is due the usual lack of moderation and police force by Zeus or a active moderator if there is some.

The Forum Admin even allow posts about enemies formats as BlueRay, audio files and DVD-Audio, another fail praxis.

The SACD database had nothing to do with the anemic Forum, which need advert in some media sites as Amazon etc.
I only see administrative inability for many years in this site, the SACD format is health.

A true blast from the past. Welcome back, Gustavo. It's been a long time since you last posted.

Yes, a lot has changed but lack of monitoring on this site is NOT one of them. Both Zeus and Polly still crack the whip when something is amiss.

It's also summer and when I go away even though I have access to the world wide net, I prefer to read the posts and not reply.....taking a break, so to speak.

And hirefox, I'm surprised you think the end of this site is near or should be! Without your recent recommendation, I probably would never have upgraded to the Marantz SA11s3.

And from reading the various posts, it would seem that a large majority of readers do have Universal Blu ray players and not everyone is into Classical multichannel so it seems only natural that discussions of BD discs and DVD~A and streaming/downloading would invade this forum now and again (especially with the paucity of multichannel rock/pop and jazz SACD offerings).

Chill out. Things will pick up in the fall!

I visit just about daily to check for the latest updates/news in the SACD world, but haven't posted since Jan. 2012 because I'm not interested in multi-channel, classical music or universal players, which seem to dominate the discussions. Another reason I haven't been posting is all the silly bickering.

One suggestion, would it be possible for the "Latest News" to actually reflect the latest news as what's up there now has been there for quite some time. It would help create some excitement about the format and also help to show that it is indeed alive and well. This goes hand in hand with nucaleena's comment that the site has become more retrospective rather than forward looking.

And speaking of posters MIA.......where's Nagraboy? He added a dCS clock to his Puccini and that's the last we heard of him.

The last I heard from him he was selling all his kit to buy some massively expensive watch from Switzerland. Shades of Ken Kessler? Bowing out of Hi Fi took me by surprise as well.

Sorry to stray off piste but as you asked the question

Who can argue with that ...and so say all of us! A very poor advert for this site that can only signal neglect

I guess we've all had the experience of standing at an empty reception desk wondering if anybody cares that someone called by? Some days visiting sa-cd.net can be just like that.

Even from one's keyboard solitude visiting sometimes can be an unnervingly lonely feeling.

I should think that the news is delivered daily by posters who peruse the internet and report their findings.

Collectively, we ARE the deliverers.

We can't depend on audio rags that publish old news (usually are a month to two behind).

Reports of new players and new technologies usually appear on this site as soon as they manifest themselves.

Yes, SACD titles are better reported on One Bit Audio but again, OBA isn't a forum which has to be overseen by a moderator which can be time consuming in and of itself.

Instead of accentuating the negative, why can't we accentuate the positive virtues, as well....of which there are many.

hirefox, sorry to hear about Nagraboy........the poor boy's obsessed with Time........ first, a master clock for his dCS Puccini and now one for his wrist!

I don't post much on here, because most forum members either bitch, or think they know it all !
Don't like how threads go way off topic too. I don't like overmodding at all, but it seems non existent on here ?
