The stereo SACD sound was actually uncomfortable to listen to when played at a high volume on my Thiel 3.6s. That is very unusual for even CDs much less SACDs or new vinyl on my system which is "revealing" in audiophile parlance. And some of the tracks were expressly written for high volume ...

Never heard of the performers but they did a very creditable job of intepretation and performance. Their versions were freshingly unique without being weird or jarring. They were unfailingly entertaining, neither overpolished and sterile nor rough and underdone. I suspect that Hoagy would be ...

I really hate to gush but this is such a pleasant album! Lovely music, well-played, and with great sonics - what's not to like? What is so appealing about this SACD is that this classical music is non-challenging for the regular listener with delights at every turn. The forces are about the right ...

Like the others in Highnote's low priced SACD series, this one is great fun with interesting if unknown artists and wonderfully clear and pleasant sound. (Only listen in stereo and haven't tried the CD track either.) So far, I'd say this is my favorite of the series. The series is a set of ...
