When the first wave of CD reissues was released, I sold my Original Jazz Classics LP reissue of this album and bought the OJC CD, and regretted it immediately, as it sounded flat in comparison. When I first listened to this SACD on my previous beginners model SONY SACD player I was disappointed: Too bright, almost unbearable, no matter what layer I chose.
