I compared this 4th SACD release of the 1956 "Ella and Louis" album to the japanese hybrid SACD from 2004 (UCGU-7039) The difference is quite important. At first, the japanese SACD sounds much more detailled and forward, but this is due to a big upper treble boost compared to the Analogue ...

This is the 1968 Bill Evans trio (Eddie Gomez, bass, Jack DeJohnette, drums) in top form, IMHO his best recording from the late 60's. This early (1999) single layer SACD release has now become a rare item. I bought it recently at a normal price ($20) on Ebay. The disc comes in a thick digipak box and an japanese/english booklet. It's great to finally have the lyrics to "Body and Soul" and "I got it bad and that ain't good" .... ...
