This is an astonishingly glorious SACD. Sorry if this is a "one liner"! Heavenly music (obviously), beautifully played and wonderfully different but similar to the choral version. I was a bit suspicious before buying, but I have discovered a treasure.

And yet CD Japan are indicating a regular flow of new future EMI SACDs, presumably under the EMI(Japan) label. I thought that these were based on Abbey Road remasterings, so why are these continuing to come out and the EMI Classics versions are not? ... more

I too have these and agree that they are very fine! The Exton 4-disc set of Rachmaninov is also marvellous. I think that Exton recordings are almost invariably superb- I also love the Macal Mahler and Dvorak performances. It is just such a shame that so many Exton discs only seem to be available from Japan- at, of course, a relatively high ... more
