Cat Stevens: Tea for the Tillerman        (1 of 2 found this review helpful)

This was played way too much around me when it came out in the early 70s. I got sick of hearing it. After having only heard the occasional song played since, I looked forward to this remaster. The feeling of immediacy is very strong. The details of Cat's singing and the tiny details of instrumental ... more

The best Bowie SACD, and a disc to demo SACD to my friends. Great material, some songs have considerable power but take several listenings to get to know. There is a wide variety of songs on this album, wider than on any of his others. The acoustics are excellent, both clear and subtle.

An excellent SACD remaster. Given the age of the analogue masters the transfer has produced a surprisingly natural and pleasing sound. If only they had recorded this in DSD ...

Nielsen in New York

A decent set of Nielsen symphonies has been long overdue. I first read about DaCapo's intentions some months ago, and looked forward to these releases. Now that I know they will be recorded in DXD, not DSD, I'm not quite as keen. ... more

My 44.1/16 music server is raid 1 with occasional disk copy withdrawal for storage in an independent location. Any server that takes a long time to rip onto should be at least tolerant of single disk failure. Has anyone experimented with the SACd ripping code now being shared online? ... more
