Simply excellent. Even if you are not a full-time fan of RAP (I am not) you have to give Ludacris some credit for creativity and talent.
The MCH mix is well tought through, use of extra channels makes sense and adds to the experience. |

There is not much genre variety in SACD recordings so it is always pleasure to find a SACD representing a new genre. In short: an uninspiring, overenegineered dull album. Very weak. C'mon Sting, you can do better than that!
To prospective buyers: just buy Brand New Day instead - it is not the best of his albums but much better than this.... |

There are not that many rock SACDs out there... Godsmack "acoustic" stands out as a perfect performance... This is as a matter of fact my perfect Gdosmack record. Well, I think I could live with that and then bug Oppo for adding this useful feature to the next firmware update. Oppo 105 covers pretty much all of anybody's optical disc needs while my CD collection has been residing on a hard drive in a lossles format since 2005, ... more |

| Case closed for me. Instead of buying a pre-amp with bells and whistles I would never use I can skip it and effectively put more money into a decent power amp like Parasound Halo A-52. This is yet another reason to go with Oppo: it would replace my SACD and BD players, my network player and preamp. All for $1,200!

| Interesting info. I am looking to upgrade mu current system and was thinking about Oppo 105 with ESS SABRE Dacs. This BD/DVD/CD/network player fulfills all my needs as a source and It's DACS are more than enough quality wise so I don't need to duplicate them in any processor, AVR or preamp. Ideally I would love to get a FIVE channel amp or five ... more |

| I would probably try to limit this forum to SACD players and DSD compatible amps as there are plenty of sites focued on "generic" equipment...
When I say equipment reviews I mean details that are hard to find like the infamous DSD to PCM conversion etc. ... more |
