I agree with the other reviewer...this SA-CD is just incredible.

The first time I heard a track fome this SA-CD was in one of those big box Kiosks back at the formats intro a few years back. I can remember thinking who would be singing choral music at Circuit City? At the proper volume it seemed just that real.

The hall ambiance is there. The performers are there. With my eyes closed I am there. I also agree that Track #6--The Lord is My Shephard---is exceptionally well done and moving.

Telarc has always been one of my favorite labels and with this format I think the affection will continue. I know for the most part it isn't the most realistic when compared with live but their recordings just seem to come close enough without the edge. Any of you that has ever been at a Jazz club with great seats know just what I'm talking about. The impact from those drums, that Blatty texture from some sax players, the squealing high pitches from various horns are great for that one evening but truthfully it would be hard to deal with day in and day out. There is just enough of the realism left to make it tolerable and close to accurate.

WOW,

After listening to this SACD on a number of different systems, I have to say very cool!!!! This SACD, recorded in the magnificent Tabernacle (home of that killer organ and also home of world class acoustics) makes all previous recording efforts of a great choir just top notch.

My favorite selection is track No. 6 "The Lord is My Shepherd" as sung by the men. As a person who sang for a few years in my college's mens chorus, I was really touched by this track.

There are many other nice tracks that use orchestra and the magnificent Aeolian Skinner organ, and are all captured with Telarc's usual stunning sonics that include excellent space and sense of air. Of course, Telarc's recording team was lucky to have such a great acoustic space to work in from the start, and they captured a real winner here!!!!

Multichannel music is imposing, the organ and the voices are incredible, would be magnificent to feel these choruses in our churches!

The quality of the recording is very good but not to level of the best Telarc productions (considering also the recording in DSD).

Strongly recommended to all.
