C'est une disque magnifique d'un compositeur magnifique! Jordi Savall and his top-line period musicians give us an excellent performance of these splendid orchestra pieces. In every piece there is something special, e.g. in the "Bourgeois Gentilhomme" Canarie the rocky violin solo, played by Manfredo Kraemer or the Second Air des Espagnoles with Marc Hantai traverso flute. L'Air de la Mariage forcé with Savall himself and Andrew Lawrence-King is heartbreaking. The sound is perfect. Listening it first in 24bit/96kHz PCM it was good, but in DSD it is perfect, though in stereo only. The naturality and clearity is stunning. I think this SACD is a must for all audiophiles!

We have come to expect only the best from Savall and his musicians and this is no exception. Splendid playing and wonderful 24/96 PCM recording, expertly transferred to DSD are this disc's characteristics. If only this gem war recorded in surround!

THIS MUSICAL INTERPRETATION OF THE WORLD OF LUIS XIV AND LULLY IS THE BEST WHAT I KNOW. THE TIMBRES OF ORQUESTRA ARE MAGICAL !. SAVALL IS REALLY A " BOX " OF THIS FRANCAISE REPERTORY. THE RECORD IS MAJESTIC. NOW, YOU CAN TO TRAVEL IN THE TIME... YOU ARE IN VERSALLES !.
