Performance:   Sonics:
If you haven't explored the works of Jacques Loussier, then this SACD is a really great place to start. Yes, it has the classic "Hamlet" advert theme tune that made Loussier a household name (Air on a G String), but it really does have so much more to offer. Jacques Loussier is truly a giant in the Jazz world and in essence what he achieves with his interpretations of classical works is quite remarkable. He finds rhythms, textures and melodies that you may have never noticed, even in some your favourite traditional renditions of Bach. As for sound quality, I cannot praise this release from Telarc high enough. It has a wonderfully full-bodied and entirely natural presentation (2-channel recommended). Telarc are showing real commitment to the SACD format and I applaud what they have achieved sonically with this release. Great stuff.
