We know that, but The Concert Sinatra was recorded with so many microphones that I'm sure they could come up with a convincing surround sound version. If you hear the album you'll realise what a good candidate for multichannel SACD it is.

I don't think Rammie knows that.

Duh!

35mm film back in the early '60's was indeed capable of at least 4 channels of sound. 70mm added 6.

Heck, even Everest had a custom designed 35mm 3 channel Westrex console built for its earlier recordings.

And Nagraboy's assertion that a multichannel effort could be derived from those multitrack 35mm recordings is spot on..........that's if someone wanted to spend the time and money to do it right.

But, unfortunately, the Concord Music Group which abandoned SACD and has been remastering the Sinatra Reprise catalog isn't that "someone."

«The difference usually CD and SACD direct cut»
Normal CD pressing enters the process through the stamper three press for mass production can withstand. (Master tape master stamper → → → mother stamper stamper) For this reason, the change in sound from the master tape has been observed more than a little. I've been sent as a product among the best ones of such environments, I've come up with every day and I can not deliver almost identical with the sound of the master tape further. The disk appeared there was cause from Virgin stamper stamper has been produced at the very beginning from the master tape. Just squeeze the most! You will be able to hear the purity of sound. This disc is what has been passed as a test only to the creator, is a disk of vision that has been said is plausible Audiophiles ever. Direct cut SACD purity vivid young and vivacious with a master tape was trapped. It is a valuable disk stamper from Virgin lacks durability. Would be too different to its sound, common sense is usually overturned and CD."

re the Hahn disc. Sony itself doesn't recognise the code DYCC-10071 & a world-wide search on the EAN comes up with only 2 references - this page & the page where you submitted the disc. I must place far greater emphasis on official sites than collector/vendor sites that may mislabel for a variety of reasons. Do you actually own this disc?

re the Honeck disc. I think I confused myself into thinking it was already listed - mea culpa. Now restored.

Hi Polly and pacwin,

Thanks for your discussion about my submission.

That's fascinating re: the Hahn. Sort of a greatest hits edition for a those who didn't want the Stravinsky/Shostakovich?
