Well it is on Amazon.de, so I would think it would make its way to the US Amazon site.

I don't think that's what he meant.

Most AP SACD become available rather quickly from one or two Amazon Marketplace sellers, but at very high prices (40-50 Euro, as currently on Amazon.de), which looks like they bought them from Acoustic Sounds at retail price.

Only much later, Amazon or Marketplace sellers offer them at a price below the official Acoustic Sounds retail price.

I had ordered a couple of new AP jazz SACDs at a good price (£19) from Amazon UK itself in October, and they were supposed to ship on november 15th. Now I am informed that the shipping date is pushed back to late December (due to bad weather!), and for current orders the price is £30 (all Amazon prices, not Marketplace).

So with AP discs from Amazon, one really needs to be patient.

To Europeans, I recommend ordering the disc from JPC or Elusive Disc, as Acoustic Sounds' international order policy is outrageous.

I have a colleague in NYC (I am in the UK) at the moment.
Is this likely to be available in any stores?

I see what you're saying, but would Amazon create a place for a current disc that only Marketplace sellers are selling but they aren't or haven't (in the past)?

Yes, it happens all the time with AP SACDs, at least with the uk, de and fr Amazons

An example: Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto: Getz/Gilberto

For those who have it, can you tell me how many were made? Do we have a number on this like we have on other things, i.e., out of 10,000 for example.

I didn't notice an edition number on mine, but can check later unless someone beats me to it.

There is no special numbering for this release - none that I could find at least, other then your standard barcode...

I would still like to hear some feedback from anyone who has compared the 24bit-96k blu-ray mix vs. the sacd....??

I would say this quite easily ranks as the best rock sacd I've ever heard - all things considered it is nothing short of a true sonic masterpiece... I did like the 5.1 DSOTM mix by James Guthrie, however some tracks were not exactly working for my taste (i.e. - 'Money' was a little too heavy on the plate reverb during the guitar solo which didn't quite work for me..)

This 5.1 WYWH mix is quite a bit more true to the original, just more open and if anything - a bit better or at least as good as the original stereo mix..

If your still thinking about getting this - just do it, if you miss out because it is a true 'limited edition' and you waited till they stop production (Naturally, that is when the price starts to go sky high..!!!), well then your just gonna kick yourself..!!

For anyone left out there who does not yet own this spectacular release, there's an infomercial of sorts about it on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FR6Jk4p_xBY&feature=youtu.be). Also, Acoustic Sounds is currently offering 10% on all in-stock music purchases until November 29 with coupon code "BlackFridaySale" that should apply to WYWH.

I got in at Elusive Discs offer to first time subscribers, i.e., free shipping. Bought 2 with one being saved for future OOP markups where I can sell it for $100 or so.
