For chamber music perhaps and movie soundtracks but when you try reproducing Mahler's Eighth on anything less than stellar equipment (read separates), I wouldn't want to be your speakers! My Onkyo receiver in my bedroom coupled with 5 B&W satellite speakers and a B&W sub can sound very good but when compared to my larger systems consisting of separates, there is NO comparison but if space or proximity to neighbors is a problem, the receiver is sometimes the only solution.

Cambridge Audio is also bringing out a bluray soon. Add that to this list of SACD capable players.

The Cambridge Audio Azur 650BD Universal Player which should be released in late 2009 looks to be a winner sporting SACD, DVD-A, Dolby Prologic IIx, HDCD and of course Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio. It's build construction and lightning-fast loading looks to exceed the OPPO BDP-83. A real contender! The British company has tentatively set the US price @ $750.00. The player also sports 7.1 and HDMI v.1.3c
