I read on an italian audiovideo magazine about the remastering in multichannel of the entire production of Alan Parsons. This project will be cared with the supervision of Alan himself. The first issue would be formed by 3 SACDs and will be entitled "Days are numbers", with an unedited title, too. Then the Parsons' whole artistic production will be discovered.

I Robot, would be an obvious first choice given the success of Dark Side of the Moon.

all would be nice, but I would prefer mystery and imagination in multichannel SACD

This is probably an outside opinion, but I think Gaudi would sound great in multi-channel...

Funny how tastes differ...

I'm most eagerly looking forward to 'Eye in the Sky'

Anyway, great news if this comes true.

All the discography must do in multichannel SACD...

Taken from the A.P.P. oficial site:

"Triple & Double CD Compilations. The first version of this compilation to be available is a Dutch 3CD set entitled 'The Dutch Collection' which was released on 2nd October 2006, followed shortly after by an adapted Italian package in November 2006 entitled 'Days Are Numbers'. The sleeve notes will be in the relevant Dutch or Italian language. In January 2007 an English version will be made available entitled 'The Essential Alan Parsons Project'. These first three triple CD versions of the compilation will be the most comprehensive including the most songs."

Unfortunately I think the Alan Parsons Project 5.1 SACD edition is a fake.

You may be right. There's no mention of SACD (or DVD-Audio, for that matter, or multi-channel in general) anywhere.

How can record companies do remaster projects of such music nowadays and NOT do a multi-channel mix?

Last I heard (which was a while ago) the Parsons back-catalog was headed for DVD-A. Not that producers and/or labels can't change their minds... 8-)
