What a great job on this 5.1 surround mix! Every song just blossoms in multichannel! And you get two great bonus tracks, Lucy in the Sky and Philadelphia Freedom are both included.

Glad to hear you are enjoying this. I have all the Elton John SACD's and while I was not a huge fan before, these SACD's have turned that around. These discs are some of the best sounding in my entire library. I wish other artists and labels would get behind the format. Can't wait for the Genesis SACD's!

yes. i personally read somewhere (possibly somewhere on this forum) that all the great early STEELY DAN albums had been remixed for multichannel and awaited release. i became very excited for a while. just think - aja, countdown to ecstacy, pretzel logic etc. in 5.1 format!!!! it's almost too much pleasure to contemplate.
sadly they have never materialised. as don mcclean once commented in a different context, "perhaps they never will?" i dream on, virtually on a daily basis.

If for no other reason but, you must buy this SACD for the Additional Superb rendition of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" !. I have loved this Album for over 30 years now, considering it one of E.J and B.T.'s quintessential offerings, but i was not prepared for the power and reproduction offered by L.S.D. !!!!. If you own a reasonable Amp, and Speakers with high 80 to mid 90db sensitivity, be prepared to be Totally Blown Away" !. It is now the standard by which i judge all others !. Wait till the wife and kids go out,the neighbours are away, and then allow this song to take you to a higher state of being !.

Hello. Great comments, but it's too bad the powers that be could have squeeked out the other E.J. 5.1 mixes completed around the same time by Greg Penny. That would've filled up the holes and pleased guh-jillions of SACD'ers. Thanks

Yes i agree, "Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player" comes to mind as another Classic which deserves to be released. Daniel, Teacher, Blues for my baby and me, and Have mercy on the criminal... if only!.

They lost a huge opportunity when they didn't release Don't Shoot Me and Caribou.
