I think that everybody here knows that Yehudi Menuhin was an excellent violinist - but it was quite unknown - at least for me - that he was also a skillful conductor who made many recordings during his last years.
Has anybody heard this one? "2 of 2 recommended this disc". Or has anybody heard Menuhin's other Membran discs - Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 6 & Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto, Elgar: Enigma Variations?

Only heard it on the radio a couple of days ago but have ordered the disc from Amazon UK as it sounded very good.

Years ago there was widespread agreement on here that Membran SQ was truly awful and that the label was best ignored. Luckily I had only a couple of discs simply to plug glaring gaps in the repertory at the time. Those gaps have long since been filled and my few discs have long since found a new home at Oxfam.

Has anybody heard ... Elgar: Enigma Variations?

Yes, I have it. There is a DVD with documentary that has better sound.
Nonetheless, Enigma is a quintessentially English work played here by a great English orchestra. If you can find it for under $10 (the original bargain price) and you are interested in the work, then go for it. The same goes for the rest of the more than 100 releases from Membran. The series does not recommend itself in general, but if a particular work is of interest to you and the price is still more than reasonable, why not hear it for yourself and then decide?
A few cautions: this work has quite a few separate movements, and the interval between each of them is super-short. If the artificial multichannel bothers you, you can listen in two channels, which do not seem to be reversed here, as in some of the earlier releases.
