I just "pre-ordered" this set from a UK source at less than $25 US, a remarkable bargain. The downside is that the UK release date is still four weeks away.

Where oh where?

Can't you favorites of Fortune share the wealth a little bit? I could not find anything even remotely resembling those prices, checking the usual suspects.

Doesn't need to be a link. You can just spell out the name dot co uk or whatever.

TIA!

Impatiently yours,

PT

13, 4, 20. Right now because of the strength of the dollar those of us in the US have greater buying power overseas even with shipping included. But I'll also remind everyone that if you're purchasing anything from one of the Amazons, books, home electronics, whatever, not just sacds, as long as you initiate the purchase by clicking through from this site or the new site there's a financial benefit that helps keep the site(s) going.

The Sibelius symphony now has an Amazon.com on sale date of November 13. However, it is still available for order (with an October 30 ship date) from England shipped to the US for less than half the price. I assume the US Amazon price will come down and the British price will increase, but that is still an extraordinary spread.

Update: just got an email that my order was shipped from the UK today.

Not to mention Karajan and DGG. But then again he was the most photogenic conductor ever imo.
I have photographed some of today's big name conductors and more not so big name ones. But I was too young to do Karajan.
I sometimes display a Karajan LP on a bookshelf as artwork of the week.
This week I have the LP cover of Sir Adrian Boult's classic 1977 EMI LP of Elgar's 1st ,William Logsdail: St Martin in the Fields with a little Eliza in front of the church on my left bookshelf.
And on the right Karajan's Tristan and Isolde without Karajan but Vickers and Dernesh against a giant sail. Very atmospheric and fitting artworks for both works.

Actually very few of Karajan's LPs included his photo, at his request. He much preferred interesting designs.
