Postponed again again - now Coming September 24, 2013 :-(

Post by hooperthom September 14, 2013 (32 of 49)
Delayed again, now October 22nd, it has been 1 year since I pre-ordered this.

Why bother, Acoustic Sounds/AP sure needs a different plan or not bother with trying to release SACDs

Their response why its taking so long is Waiting In Line, I like to believe that BUT I've been waiting in line for a year, too me its not a good enough excuse.

Anyone who believes release dates anymore will be sorely disappointed.

All I know, Hoop, is that when they are released they are usually worth the wait.

I have noticed that my Count Basie SACD (from MoFi) was manufacturered in the USA and NOT Austria so I'm sure the Terre Haute SACD pressing plant is operational (but perhaps on a limited basis???????)

The biggest problem. They need more Kevin Grays at the controls churning out all these anticipated conversions to SACD.

And more Steve Wilsons for 5.1 surround.

Totally agreed !
The Terre Haute plant is closed but the Californian one stills operates on a limited basis indeed.

It's been over a year since I pre-ordered this. Beyond disappointed.

Frustrating as hell. Today I placed an order with Music Direct (more Shunyata Research power cords/conditioners) and was able to get the brand new Hall and Oats Voices SACD for $24. Will post some sort of review.

Loved the America SACD (the guitar work sounds fantastic and the separation is equally superb) but I did notice that the vocals were not as distinct from track to track (recessed, especially on the first track). Anyone else experience the same?

Really wish AP would get their SACD act together. Let's face it......their main love is vinyl which always appears ahead of the SACD (because they're pressed domestically on their own 'custom' cutting lathes).

I have it and it sounds excellent as with most SACD from AP.

Just received my copy of Steppenwolf today along with Dusty In Memphis: both MUST purchases. Steppenwolf never sounded this good on my early vinyl presssing.

Bless AP............they may take forever..........but the wait is worth it.

Also received the BD~A of Lori Lieberman: Bricks Against The Glass.....will audition later and report on the BD~A thread. At least that's 5.1 and mastered by the same folks who did the Patricia Barber Modern Cool BD~A 5.1 which is a stunner!
