Another great release from Opus 3 as far as sound quality is concerned.

Sound quality, as with all of their SACD releases is top notch. You can place each and every instrument in the sound stage wrt depth, width and height. A truely 3 dimensional recording. Notes decay naturally, especially when John plays some of the resonating guitars. You can hear the sound bounce from the walls, etc.

It took me a few listens to the disc to make up my mind on the musical content. Some of the bluesy stuff is great, but there are some songs that have more of a folk / country flavour to them that I do enjoy as much. On the blues material I give the disc a 5 star performance rating. On a few of the other numbers I give the disc a 2 to 3 star rating, simply because they are not my cup of tea so as to speak. They are all impecable performed, just not my style of music.

BJ uses a lot of antique instruments which in itself is quite interesting. Some of the old pianos sound really impressive. He is a really good guitarist and not well known outside of Sweden.

Mr. Bottleneck (...) uses all kind of guitars, or instruments likes that.....
Nice blues, nice songs. Well sung.
If you do like blues.... This is a kind of disc that's a really good one.

Opus often has made very good SACD's...
