I have both this version and the newer MoFi. This version is punchier and faster paced than the MoFi SACD, which sounds more like a mid-hall perspective.
My preference is for this version: more drive, weight, immediacy and guitar detail. It draws me in and holds my attention much more than the ... more |

Compared to the punchier, faster paced Columbia SACD, this sounds more like a mid-hall perspective.
My preference is for the former: more drive, weight, immediacy and guitar detail. It draws me in and holds my attention much more than the overly-refined flow of this MoFi effort does.

I currently have both SACD versions: the Island 2003 2-disc set, and the Universal Japan 2010 SHM-SACD. I won't go on about the music itself, we all know it's a stunning 5-star album where songs like "Grey Seal" and "All the Young Girls Love Alice" are every bit as strong as the hits like "Harmony" ... more |

No need to rhapsodize about the music itself, which runs neck and neck with Hotel California as perhaps the best popular rock album of the mid-70s.
