Thankfully this was a present. While the sound is very good, the performances are not. The Boston Pops could be a careless ensemble and they are here. This classic recital – The Blue Album – has never sounded better. Price is in glorious early voice for one of the all-time greatest opera recitals. The sound improvement is astounding. These are classics from Reiner and Borkh. Having owned this on LP and Living Stereo CD, I was not prepared for the vast improvement in clarity, dynamic range, spacing and color this SACD provides.
